Each child writes their ‘motion’ on a slip of paper, and then puts it in the hat. Motions can be on any topic, for example, ‘All shops should charge for carrier bags’ or ‘School should be abolished’. Each is then drawn out of the hat in turn and discussed by the group. A vote usually follows. Time for each motion limited to 5 minutes.
