In 2025 Woodcraft Folk will be celebrating its centenary – a 100 years of spanning the world with friendship!
Consultation with members and volunteers began at Woodcraft Folk’s AGM in September 2021 with an online survey. The survey is still open and individuals are encouraged to take 5 minutes to share their ideas of how Woodcraft Folk should celebrate.
Activities to date include:
- A Symposium celebrating the impact of Woodcraft Folk on children and young people 14 May 2022
- Centenary Camp in August 2025
- 100 events in the 100th year, everything from local birthday parties to regional camps
Other suggestions include a photography competition, re-enactments, banner making workshops.
Woodcraft Folk has a small team of archivist volunteers who would be keen to share items from the archive, so please use the survey to share topics of interest. For those who want to access items in the archive please visit Woodcraft Folk’s heritage website.
During the Spring 2022 term all Woodcraft Folk groups are encouraged to consult young members for their suggestions for local, regional and national celebrations. To help with this consultation a group night session plan has been prepared.
There is also a team looking to create a World Record singing a round, possibly using ‘Building Bridges’ and ‘Wouldn’t it be’. If you would like to be involved in this project please contact Debs McCahon.
