Introduction to Planet Utopia
This resource pack has been developed with funding support from the Barry Amiel and Norman Melburn Trust. The general objectives of the Trust are to advance public education, learning and knowledge in all aspects of the philosophy of Marxism, the history of socialism, and the working class movement.
2025 saw Woodcraft Folk celebrate our centenary. As part of marking the year we hosted an international camp bringing together young people from across the UK and beyond. Camp programme consisted of exploring many different themes through a range of programme ‘centres’. Planet Utopia was a place to learn how we can work together to create a better world and be inspired to create one! Workshops cover topics such as what socialism is, class struggle, and direct action.
Workshops in this resource were designed and developed by Louis Delmege and Jess Poyner.

Who are these workshop plans for?
The plans within this guide can be used by youth workers and group leaders working with young people aged 6 – 21. Each workshop gives basic information as to who the workshop is aimed at, the outcomes expected and step by step instructions on how to deliver the workshop. These workshops were delivered at Camp 100 in the summer of 2025 and can be adapted as seen fit by group leaders in the future.
