Christmas Challenge: Residential Adventures

Everyone dreams of adventure – Residential Adventures was a fundraising campaign to give more children a Woodcraft Folk adventure of their very own. Everything donated between 29th November – 6th December 2022 was doubled by our funders, in the Big Give’s Christmas challenge! We successfully raised an amazing £18,134 to help make Woodcraft adventures more accessible to all. You can find out more about the campaign on its archived page, or read on for our original campaign information.

Everyone dreams of adventure – donate now to give more children a Woodcraft Folk adventure of their very own for Christmas.

We’re raising money for Residential Adventures, our campaign to give more young people the opportunity to take part in Woodcraft Folk camps and residentials. As part of the Christmas Challenge match funding campaign, every donation will be doubled until 6th December!

We’re aiming to raise a total of £20,000, with the help of our match funder Four Acre Trust, which will reduce financial barriers for those children and young people who have the most to gain. Many children have been unable to play and spend quality time outdoors over the last few years, and are seeking more support for their mental health. At the same time, young people are also becoming more and more concerned about the environment, and they need the chance to learn about and have adventures in the world around them.

Woodcraft Folk will host over 30,000 night stays in our centres and campsites in 2023 – that’s 30,000 adventures filled with co-operative, educational and well-being focused activities all in the great outdoors. By donating, you can help fund reduced and free places for children in the greatest need; residential training for volunteers; well-being and mental health camping trips; and much more.
