All Change Residential

The All Change project, funded by the National Association for Environmental Education, aims to educate and empower young people, youth workers and teachers in climate change education

The project is in its second year and there are many exciting opportunities for young people coming up over 2022. The next stage of the project is to work on creating workshops which will help educate and empower young people to teach other young people – youth workers and teachers – about the climate crisis, climate literacy and what actions everyone can take. The workshops, plans and resources created will be put together into a ‘toolkit’ after the event and will be developed during a residential between 11-13 April at Cudham Environmental Centre. The residential is open to young people age 10-15 who want to be involved in the project.

The team of young people (plus staff and volunteers) will take time over the residential to learn from a climate literacy professional. The ‘training’ that the participants carry out with Emma, will end with all involved to be accredited as carbon literate! The residential will also see collaboration between young people to create two workshops around educating others on the climate crisis and how others can take action. One workshop will be prepared to be delivered to adults and one to young people. The workshops will consist of content created by the young people and their ideas. The residential will also answer any questions the young people may have e.g. how to deliver a workshop, how to get everyone’s attention and how to lead adults etc.

As well as taking time to create resources and workshops, the residential will see other ‘usual’ camp activities such as clan, cooking, campfires and a bit of exploring around the centre!

This is a really exciting opportunity for young people (age 10-15) and a great project to be involved in. To express interest in coming along, please fill in this simple Expression of Interest Form and Woodcraft Folk’s project team will be back in touch very soon. This form can be filled in by parents/carers sending individual young people or by group leaders planning to bring a few participants. There are 28 spaces to be filled by young people and booking will close when 28 have booked on 6 April 2022.

Feel free to pass on this opportunity to others who may be interested.

Please note that travel, accommodation, activities and food costs will all be covered within the project budget for this residential as well as the cost covered for any materials for the workshops.
