As we find ourselves in the midst of a financial crisis, charities are needing support more than ever to ensure their vital work can continue.
Charity Woodcraft Folk are reminding people about their Friend of the Folk scheme which is made up of regular donors who help fund their crucial work with young people. The donors are called “Friends of the Folk” because of the amazing support they give to Woodcraft Folk.
Woodcraft Folk’s Fundraiser Cici says:
“Regular donations are vital to our work and allow us to plan for the future, and to ensure that our support is always available to young people and volunteers. In return for donations, Friends of the Folk are kept up to date on Woodcraft Folk’s work; the impact of their donations; and opportunities to get involved in upcoming events and campaigns. This is a really special scheme; these regular donations help us deliver so many important aspects of our work such as the start up of local groups, the recruitment of volunteers or residential trips for young people.”
Woodcraft Folk have been supporting and campaigning for young people for nearly 100 years with the charity celebrating its centenary in 2025. Core to the charity’s offering are the running of local groups for its young members. The local groups offer a safe space where young members can grow in confidence, develop skills, learn about the world, have fun and make lifelong friendships. The charity also runs four residential centres, creates volunteering opportunities and runs educational programmes as well as promoting campaigns on topics such as anti-racism and child poverty.
Setting up a regular direct debit through Woodcraft Folk’s Friends of the Folk scheme can help fund:
🔸outdoor education and residential trips
🔸the start of new groups
🔸the running of Woodcraft Folk’s residential centres
🔸recruitment and training of new volunteers
🔸opportunities for harder to reach children and young people.
By setting up a Direct Debit, you’ll be helping to ensure more children and young people can come to Woodcraft Folk to have great fun, develop self-confidence and learn how to build a peaceful, fairer world.
Help ensure Woodcraft Folk can continue its work with young people by signing up as a Friend of the Folk today.
