Woodcraft Folk is excited to announce its next International Camp will be taking place in the summer of 2030.
Planning is in the very early stages currently (we’ve only just recovered from Camp 100 last year). We’re starting off by thinking about electing a Wayfinding Committee.
A Way-what-now Committee?
A Wayfinding Committee is a diverse merry throng of members from across the movement who come together to curate the vision of the 2030 International Camp. The Wayfinding Committee does not plan the camp, where the toilets are going, or what evening entertainment there will be for DFs; rather the Wayfinding Committee will collate the thoughts of the movement into a blueprint. The blueprint will reveal the name, the theme and the structure of the camp without doing any heavy lifting (that’s saved for the Driving Committee).
The Terms of Reference for the Wayfinding Committee are currently being proof read by General Council to make sure all the i’s are crossed and t’s dotted – check back soon and they’ll be published here.
The Wayfinding Committee will be democratically elected and will consist of:
- 2 Pioneers
- 2 Venturers (from Venturer Committee)
- 3 DFs (including 1 being the DF Big Camps Rep)
- 1 Elfin Leader
- 1 Pioneer Leader
- 1 Venturer Leader
- 3 International representatives
- And 6 lay seats
These members will be elected democratically at a number of events during the summer of 2026. This includes adult seats at Annual Gathering 2026; find out more and nominate yourself now. Other election information to be published soon – check back soon for more info.
Where Next?
The first big action of the Wayfinding Committee will be a residential weekend at Cudham in the Autumn. We’re hoping to be able to make this an open meeting, extending the invitation to members of the movement who aren’t elected members of the committee. If this sounds interesting to you, check back soon for more information!
