Beyond Boundaries (16/8 to 21/8)
IFM-SEI is looking for 20 participants aged 15-30 for the main stage of its new project “Beyond Boundaries” seminar which is supported by the European Youth Foundation of the council of Europe.
The seminar is scheduled to take place from the 16th to 23rd of August 2024 at the Kurt Lowenstien House, Berlin, Germany. As a reminder, Beyond Boundaries is IFM-SEI new project that aims to enhance the capacity of 20 youth workers in all CoE countries and beyond, to advocate for LGBTQI+ refugee rights and to develop resources for both, organisations, and individuals to support and protect their rights.

International Summer School 2024 – Registration is now open! (16/8 to 23/8)
“Radical horizons – Exploring communal living, Queer anticapitalism, and anarchy in a changing world”
Summer School 2024” is organized by Kurt Löwenstein Education Centre in cooperation with international partner organisations of SJD – Die Falken (Socialist Youth of Germany): IFM-SEI (International Falcon Movement – Socialist Educational International) and IUSY (International Union of Socialist Youth).
Welcome to Summer School 2024, an immersive experience that explores the foundations of communalism, alternative living, and the intricacies of anti-capitalist ideologies. Dive into workshops covering topics such as building resilient communities, the basics of anticapitalism, and exploring alternative living arrangements outside the conventional capitalist framework.
Delve into the realms of communalism, where shared values and cooperation take centre stage. Unpack the intersection of queer identity and anti-capitalist principles and examine the practice of squatting as a form of resistance. From the basics of anarchy as a political philosophy to hands-on guidance on creating sustainable, cooperative living spaces, this summer school offers a dynamic blend of theory and practical insights. Join us in shaping a future where communities thrive outside the confines of capitalism, and diverse voices contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society.
The programme is developed by the International Team of Kurt Löwenstein Education Centre who will work in track-sessions every day. But will leave plenty of time per day for other parts of the programme participants self-organise, with the help of the International Team, but also themselves. In committees, we will organise our free time and evenings. We will have time to share workshops and also participants will spend one day on a field trip in Berlin.
The seminar will be conducted in English; thus, it will be rather hard to understand the instructions and fully participate if your English is limited. However, you may help each other out in delegations.

How do I apply for international opportunities?
Every project is slightly different, information on this page should hold how to apply. The usual routes are either through Woodcraft Folk by contacting lauren@woodcraft.org.uk or directly through the partner organisation e.g. IFM-SEI. If applications are direct, links should appear with the opportunities above
Do I have to pay to take part in an international activity?
Most international opportunities have a participation fee. This can range from £50 – £200 for most events. You will most likely find out about the participant fee on this page or during the registration process. Please do get in touch with Woodcraft Folk if you feel that finances are a barrier to participate as we can arrange payment plans and speak to our partners about fees.
How is travel organised?
There is often a travel budget for each activity which should cover travel to and from the event. Depending on the project and activity either you will arrange your own travel and claim back from the hosting organisation or Woodcraft Folk will arrange travel with you and reclaim the funds centrally.
Do I need a passport to take part in international activities?
yes, to travel outside of the UK for an international event or activity you must have a valid passport. Your passport will need to be valid for at least 3 months (in some cases 6 months) after your arrival in the country.
How are participants chosen?
Where spaces for events are limited, criteria for selection will vary from project to project, but may include relevant skills, interests and lived experiences, as well as giving priority, where possible, to those who have not participated in previous international projects with Woodcraft Folk
