Woodcraft Folk groups take part in demonstration calling for climate action!

Numerous youth organisation Woodcraft Folk groups joined in with 60,000+ people on 22nd June 2024 for the Restore Nature Now demonstration.

Woodcraft Folk’s involvement was organised by the charities Highgate and Holloway District who were joined by other London Region representatives of Waltham Abbey and Harlow, Camden, and Newham. St Albans and Bromley joined in at points along the March.

At the demonstration, other organisations, members of the public, public figures and conservationists all come together to call on the Government to get behind big action for nature.

Calls for action included:

  • A pay rise for nature
  • Making polluters pay
  • More space for nature
  • A right to a healthy environment
  • Fair and effective climate action

Woodcraft Folk young members taking part in the event particularly enjoyed all the bright costumes and creative placards! Thought provoking speakers also engaged with the youth organisations young members.

A leader from Woodcraft Folk’s Waltham Abby group says:

“People came together from across the land to stand behind one message, brought in peace to Parliament. We hope the next government will take the action necessary to protect our environment and Restore Nature!”

Woodcraft Folk thanks all their groups that took part and who represented the movement with a special thanks to Highgate and Holloway for organising the charities presence at the event.
