Do you love the outdoors and want to make a real difference for young people?
We’re looking for a hands-on, practical person to join our friendly team at Biblins
Youth Campsite as a Maintenance Assistant.
Working in a stunning location nestled in the Wye Valley, you’ll help ensure the
site is safe, welcoming and well-maintained for the thousands of children and
young people who visit each year. Biblins Youth Campsite provides camping,
residential accommodation and adventurous activities for youth groups, schools
and families.
As our Maintenance Assistant, you’ll:
● Help with day-to-day site maintenance and upkeep e.g. bathrooms,
fencing, painting
● Carrying out regular monitoring checks to ensure safety and cleanliness
● Ensure facilities are clean, safe and ready for use
● Helping to manage waste, recycling and general tidiness around the site
● Respond to any on-site issues quickly and calmly
● Work closely with the Centre Manager and volunteers
This is a practical, active role—you will find yourself outdoors in all weathers,
fixing things and making sure everything runs smoothly. This is a varied and
physical role where no two days are the same — one day you might be erecting
bell tents or mending a broken fence, the next day you might be fixing a hinge on
a door or replacing a washer to stop a tap dripping!
We’re looking for:
● A proactive, reliable attitude with an understanding of safe working
practices and relevant H&S regulations
● Experience with basic maintenance tasks (e.g. DIY, groundskeeping)
● Good communication and teamwork skills
● A flexible approach to working hours, willing to work extra hours in the
summer and fewer in the winter
● A friendly, supportive presence for visiting groups
Why join us?
● Work in a truly beautiful setting
● Be part of a small, passionate team
● Help create positive experiences for young people
● Develop practical and outdoor site skills
● Flexible working patterns available, Real Living Wage employer
