General Council recently met at Lockerbrook Farm Outdoor Centre. This was their first face to face meeting since February 2020.
It was fantastic to be able to invite new Trustees:
- Thomas Boxall (Eastbourne)
- Tamsin Pearce (Bath)
- Jeni Dixon (Lewisham & Greenwich)
The meeting was a mixture of workshops, small group activities and discussions. General Council received the latest financial report and approved the 2022 budget, which includes a number of investments in group support, centre development, fundraising and communication capacity.
General Council members shared ideas for celebrating Woodcraft Folk’s centenary and confirmed their commitment to host a major camp in 2025. The ‘Heading to 100’ Working Group are already making plans on how to celebrate Woodcraft Folk’s history with a series of events and publications, including a Symposium in May 2022 focusing on Woodcraft Folk’s motto – Span the World with Friendship.
During the meeting General Council review and updated policy documents relating to safeguarding, health & safety, recruitment of ex-offenders and the reporting of significant incidents.
