Youth organisation Woodcraft Folk, is on the search for pledgers to enable them to run an engaging and impactful programme!
The charity has been given the amazing opportunity to receive match funding from the Childhood Trust to deliver Play Out days across London Boroughs throughout summer 2022.
However, to access the match funding, Woodcraft Folk needs to raise £3,000 in donations from pledges of £100+ by April 1st 2022 at 5pm.
During the pandemic, children have had limited access to play and the great outdoors, resulting in a huge rise in the number of children seeking mental health support. Woodcraft Folk seek to support young people with their pandemic recovery by reducing barriers to engagement in play and one of the ways they want to do this is via the running of their Play Out days.
The Play Out days will involve cooperative play, environmental education, outdoor adventures and learning about peaceful conflict resolution, social action and problem solving. Through the programme, it is hoped participants will develop friendships, reduce feelings of loneliness, become more active and engaged in social action issues creating a sense of belonging.
Woodcraft Folk are thrilled to have their first pledge but hope that others will want to come forward and donate to allow them to deliver their impactful Play Out days programme.
