Common Ground – Family & Friends Open Day

Common Ground will open its doors on Saturday the 6th of August 2022, for family and friends of those in Woodcraft Folk, and other IFM-SEI members.

Come and see the world we will have created together, check in on your children and grandchildren, catch up with friends of old. You are welcome to explore the central area, attend workshops, enjoy our cafes, see what is going on it towns.

Directions

The address is Kelmarsh Event Field. For directions see How to find us. Please do not enter through the gate marked “Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens”.

There won’t be a shuttle service from the local train stations. You are welcome to park on event site for free, or here is a Stagecoach service X7. On Saturdays during the day, this runs hourly close to the Kelmarsh Event Field. Use Traveline to plan your journey or see the X7 timetable.

Book your ticket

All participants need to book a ticket via Eventbrite. We are asking for a donation from everyone who attends. This is to cover costs of rent, toilets, marquees, activities etc. Our recommended donation is £8 per person, but of course if you believe you could afford more, we welcome larger donations. If £8 would be a lot of money for you, by all means donate less.

Where to eat

Please bring a packed lunch with you, or you are welcome to visit the camp cafes for drinks and snacks.

Safeguarding and general etiquette

You will be given a sticker or a wristband on arrival to identify you as a day visitor. Please wear this while you are on site.

All standard Woodcraft safeguarding rules, and codes of behaviour apply. Villages are a space that many people will have made their home for 10 days. Please only enter a village if you have been invited.

You will need to leave the site before 6pm. Plan your return journey carefully.
