Last month, Woodcraft Folk ran a “Champions for Children” fundraising campaign and they are thrilled to announce that they have raised over and above their target! The youth engagement charity says thanks to donations made by generous supporters, match-funding given from the Childhood Trust, and GiftAid, they raised a grand total of £13,550. The money raised will go towards providing free Woodcraft Folk activities to disadvantaged children across London, including Play Out days and residential weekends at their Cudham Environmental Activity Centre.
The charity are so excited with the results of their first match-funded campaign, but they are not resting on their laurels! Woodcraft Folk have already booked in all five residential weekends, allowing newly established groups to have their first camp experiences. The next Play Out sessions will be added to the charity’s calendar soon – if you would like to volunteer to help run Play Out sessions to introduce environmental education and co-operative games to more children and young people, please get in touch with Cici at cici.carey-stuart@woodcraft.org.uk.
Woodcraft Fundraiser Cici says:
“I’m so grateful for all the support we have received during this campaign. From the people who pledged their support from the start, to those who donated last minute, to those who shared the campaign with their friends and family. It’s a difficult time for a lot of children and families right now, and by working together we have given an amazing gift – time to play and learn in the great outdoors”.
