Pioneers (age 10-12), Venuturers (age 13-15) and DFs (age 16-20) took over Alexandra Palace ice rink in November for an ice skating adventure.
On the evening of 27 November over 200 Woodcraft Folk members from the London Region got their skates on at Alexandra Palace. Skaters came from 13 Districts – Brighton, Camden, Clapham, Ealing and Hammersmith, Hackney, Harlow and St Albans, Highgate and Holloway, Lewisham and Greenwich, New Barnet, Southwark, Tooting, Waltham Abbey and Watford.
Traditionally this skate has taken place annually in November at midnight at the ice rink. Last year was the first time the region has held the event at an earlier time but several groups commented that they preferred it because it meant they could use public transport and include younger members who wanted to come and enjoy the fun. “It was great to be able to meet again with groups from across London and it was a very happy event. Looking forward to the next time.” – Sarah Richardson, organiser.
