Lockerbrook Volunteer weekend
Join us for a Volunteer Weekend at Lockerbrook in the Peak District National Park!
This autumn we are running a volunteering weekend at Lockerbrook on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2026.
It will be an opportunity for you to stay in a lovely place, make new friends, learn new skills and help us out with some practical tasks around the site.
You can come for the whole weekend or just a day.
Accommodation is available and vegetarian food will be provided from Saturday lunch to Sunday lunch. We just ask for a £15 contribution per person to cover costs.
Official start is at 9:30am on Saturday October 17th and it finishes about 2pm on Sunday 18th.
People are welcome to arrive Friday, but you will have to provide your own food for Friday evening and Saturday morning, although we usually have toast and cereals available.
Venturers , DFs and young people aged 13 and above are welcome but will need to be accompanied by a parent/carer. We have limited space for under 18s if they are staying over.
This is an open event and we are expecting some Sheffield students and non Woodcraft adults, so young people will need to be supervised at all times. Please get in touch if you want more details.
The weekend will comprise: volunteer work all day Saturday, social Saturday night and work Sunday morning including cleaning and preparing for the next group.
Tasks may include: fixing steps, gates and fences; gardening – clearing, weeding and bulb planting; painting and decorating. Bring old clothing!
