Woodcraft Folk is calling on their local groups, members and supporters across the country to march with them at the family-friendly Together Alliance demonstration against the far right.
The Together Alliance is a UK-based coalition of over 250 civil society organisations and trade unions united against far-right division, racism, and discrimination. Formed to promote solidarity, it includes members like Stand Up to Racism and the Trades Union Congress. The Alliance is organising a major national demonstration in London on March 28, 2026 and Woodcraft Folk urges their members and supporters to join them.
Woodcraft Folk supports and has co-signed the Together Alliance statement (launched at the end of 2025) along with many celebrities, politicians and organisations. The youth organisation has expressed their concern about the rise of far-right activism and its influences on young people.
Woodcraft Folk have been involved in similar demonstrations in London and across the UK for over 100 years giving young people a voice and calling for a peaceful, fairer world. They encourage their members to come along for the Together demonstration to champion and celebrate cooperation, inclusion, and social justice—values that sit at the heart of Woodcraft Folk’s mission.

The demonstration, will bring families, young people, and community groups together to celebrate peace, solidarity and collective action.
Lauren Penny, Woodcraft Folk Comms Manager says: “Our movement has always believed that children and young people can be powerful agents of change. This demonstration is a chance for our groups to stand together, raise our voices, and show that a more peaceful and equitable future should be the only option and is possible when communities unite and cooperate. We are calling on our members to join us in our family bloc wearing their Woodcraft Folk clothing and marching in solidarity with banners and flags, standing up against the far right. We want to be as visible as possible on the march and make a big presence with the message of love, hope and unity!”
The event is designed to be welcoming and accessible for all ages, with a positive atmosphere that reflects the Together Alliance’s commitment to non‑violent, community‑led action. Woodcraft Folk local groups and families are encouraged to attend with banners and flags, wearing Woodcraft Folk clothing and bringing their trademark enthusiasm and proactiveness.
Woodcraft Folk Districts are encouraged to make plans to join Woodcraft Folk on 28 March and to talk about why the organisation are doing this and explore topics such as discrimination, anti-racist activities, cooperation, Trade Unions, activism and education for social change in sessions leading up to the event.
Woodcraft Folk will be gathering on Park Lane at 12pm. The march is expected to set off from about 12:30 onwards. Woodcraft Folk will be meeting together beforehand and plan to run some engaging activities for children and young people. The Woodcraft Folk family-friendly bloc is expected to be towards the front and the youth organisation will provide special support on the route; indicating exit areas for groups that get tired and cannot manage the whole thing, as well as directing to rest points and toilet locations. There will be a shortcut for people who cannot manage the whole thing. The route is not that long, but it may be difficult for families with young children, or disabled folk, if the march is very busy.
Trade unions and other organisations are arranging coaches from different parts of the country and people are encouraged to make direct contact with the organisers of those coaches to book seats. A map of all the coaches that are currently booked, with a form to complete to make contact can be found at www.togetheralliance.org.uk/transport. Some coaches require a contribution towards the cost of travel, but some providers are offering free or discounted travel for low or unwaged individuals. If your town or city isn’t on the list yet or a coach is already fully booked — more coaches are being added all the time.
Woodcraft Folk members and supporters can also make their own travel arrangements and for such a large and complex demonstration, the organisation advise that their under 12 years young members should travel with their families to join in on the march rather than organising a local group trip. 13+ years are welcome to attend as their Venturer and DF groups or Venturers/DFs may make their own individual travel arrangements amongst themselves with support from leaders and consent/understanding from parents where applicable.
Woodcraft Folk would love to know if any of their Venturer/DF groups plan on attending the march, please let them know if so by filling in this form so that they can best plan for the event.
There is also an opportunity for Woodcraft Folk members to sign on as stewards. To be a steward you must be 16 years and over. 16/17 years who sign up will be in the Woodcraft Folk bloc helping to facilitate on the march as well as supporting running children’s activities before the event. If you’re 18+ there is also an opportunity to support with stewarding the main event. If you are interested in signing up to be a steward, fill in this form. There will be some online training available to stewards beforehand both from Woodcraft Folk and the event organisers.
Attending the event with Woodcraft Folk is the perfect opportunity to engage young people in politics and campaigning in a safe, family-friendly space whilst standing up for unity and social justice.
