Woodcraft Folk’s work with children and young people is only possible with the support of a diverse range of volunteers. Some work with our young members at our weekly groups, and others provide valuable support behind the scenes or help deliver our UK-wide and international projects.

Volunteering with Woodcraft Folk is a chance to build your own skills and meet like-minded people. Whether you volunteer as part of a one-off event or develop a long-term link with a group in your area, your support will enable young people to have unique and life-enhancing experiences.

Being a Group Leader is a fantastic opportunity to work with enthusiastic groups of young people over a period of time and to really see the benefit your support is giving those young people.

I got involved because I so appreciate what Woodcraft gives to my son and other children – a chance to be connected with nature – and realise that it cannot continue without people getting involved... It was a challenge to go camping as an adult! But the camaraderie and the personal challenge makes it an extremely fulfilling experience.

It's a brilliant experience to be amongst children and young people working our at a very practical level what is meant by 'empowering'. Overtime I have shifted from planning and running evenings for 6-7 year olds to taking a facilitating role where I support teenagers to organise themselves.
