Group Residential Training

Join us for a weekend that will explore all elements of organising and delivering a fun, engaging and safe residential / camp with your group.

Over the weekend participants will explore:

• Essentials of keeping safe at a residential/camp
• Risk assessments
• What is needed to run a successful residential/camp
• activities (related to our aims and principles) that work well
• Ideas for how to organise food
• Our wonderful Lockerbrook centre

This weekend is aimed at group leaders who would like to find out more about organising and delivering a camping or residential trip for their group. There are some groups who have struggled to go on a residential since before the pandemic or who have never been on a residential. We want to welcome those who are new to organising overnight trips or want a refresher and build confidence to deliver engaging, exciting and enjoyable experiences for young people in the future.

For us to be able to fully demonstrate activities in action and share ideas we are welcoming leaders to bring a small number of young people from their groups to join us at Lockerbrook for the weekend. The young people will take part in programme and also learn more about delivering residentials/camping trips and empower them with their own knowledge and skills to support them to be involved in the organising of events in the future.
