Cudham bushcraft camp

Cudham Centre would like to invite you to attend a Pioneer Weekend Camp where you can meet new friends, play games, do some bushcraft activities and have on hand all the facilities that Cudham can provide for recreational time. This is an indoor camp with a bushcraft emphasis aimed at Pioneers, young people who attend Pioneer groups nights and those who will be attending the national Pioneer Camp this summer.

Cudham Environmental Activities Centre is bringing together some members of the bushcraft team to support Pioneers and their leaders to take part in bushcraft activities around the centre including under our lovely parachute.

There are lots of planned activities, an example of some of the things that may be on offer.

  • A how to session on Wild Camping tarp set up for shelter or hammocks in the woods, (we will not be sleeping in the shelters)
  • Green wood working using Mora knives, saws and bushcraft mallets etc to make small personal items such as tent pegs and spreaders
  • Making feather sticks
  • Making char cloth
  • Using Rocket Stoves and Storm Kettles
  • Exploring the local Natural Environment
  • Outdoor Craft – elder bracelets and necklaces, natural weaving, Elder pencils, wood cookie crafts
  • Fire Lighting – exploring different ways to create sparks, identifying the correct materials for tinder, kindling and burning wood
  • Cooking – how to cook over open fires

The camp will take place from the 26th-28th June 2026 at Cudham Environmental Activities Centre, New Barn Lane, Cudham, Kent TN16 2HT.

The cost of this camp is £60.00 per person.

Arrival is Friday evening and departure approximately 2pm on Sunday. Attendees should have had their evening meal, a light supper will be provided later in the evening. Due to the level of support that may be required by those attending, the maximum ratio of young people to adults will be 5 to 1.
