The World We Want To See Camp

What does your vision for the future of the world look like? What small steps can we take to make th at happen? Pioneers, Venturers, DFs and voluntee rs are invited to take part in "The World WeWant To See" Camp from Saturday 4th to Mond ay 6th May 2019.  After setting up campon Saturday and an opening circle: young members will participate in (and volunteers will support) a wide game: Sammy (a Pioneer) is presenting youngpeople's vision of a better world to UN, bu t needs your help to collect all the evidence theyneed and put together their report! Working toget her in small groups you'll take on challengesacross the campsite to shape the picture of &quot ;The World We Want To See". On Saturday eve ning we'll have a campfire and a chance for e veryone to socialise.  On Sunday, part icipants will form their own small groups based onan issue they'd like to take action on local ly, nationally or globally. Using a hackthon form at, groups will work together over the course of the day to devise their own social action. These w ill be showcased to all the other groups on Sundayevening.  Monday morning will be an op portunity for action planning to make those vision s a reality in small ways during Summer 2019, bef ore taking down tents and a closing circle. W hether you are an experienced camper or this will be your first Woodcraft Folk residential, all arewelcome to join us and equipment and extra suppor t will be provided where needed. Accomodation willmostly be in tents, though some space for those who would prefer an indoor sleepover is available.Meals will be provided for Saturday lunch throughto Monday breakfast. Participants will be asked t o join in with the preparation of meals and other campsite chores as 'clan' duties. V olunteers who are parents/carers are welcome to br ing children of Woodchip or Elfin age (under 10),but please be aware activities are aimed at Pione ers and above and you will need to supervise young er children whilst participating. If sufficient de mand we may be able to provide a creche programme - please let us know when booking.  Anyvolunteer wishing to stay overnight at the camp w ill need to have current Woodcraft Folk membership , an up to date DBS check and have submitted two references if becoming a member for the first time . Please make sure this is completed in plenty of time before the event.
