Wokingham Action Project

Wokingham Elfins and Pioneers are running a project to improve their local meadow for everyone that uses it. They’ve planned what they want to do with advice from a local conservation group ‘Friends of the Emmbrook’ in order to make the area look nicer, encourage wildlife and to make the area more interesting for young people.

The Pioneers and Elfins have come up with the ideas for the meadow and now have permission to go ahead from the council. They are planning to plant a ‘fruit and nut’ hedgerow in an area of the meadow which the group said  they didn’t like, and also to put some tree stumps and logs along the edge of the river to make it like a natural playground for young people in the community to use.
