What is a typical group night?

A typical group night varies depending on the age of the children attending but most would normally involve collecting subs on arrival, whilst there was a drop-in game or activity taking place whilst waiting for everyone to arrive.

Case study: Woodcraft stall at a festival

Running a stall at an event is a great way to promote Woodcraft Folk, and to share with the public what we do and why we do it. Lots of Woodcraft groups take stalls and activities to annual local events, and some represent us at summer festivals. Here is Kit's story of taking a Woodcraft Folk stall to Latitude.

  • Charity Commission in Scotland

This Annual Conference resolves to amend section C of the constitution of the Woodcraft Folk as follows:

Add a new third paragraph:

"Throughout this constitution a 'charitable purpose' is a purpose that is regarded as charitable both in the law of England and Wales and in the law of Scotland, and the term 'charitable' is to be interpreted in accordance both with the law of England and Wales and the law of Scotland"

What if children are the wrong age?

Our age groups are not fixed, so leaders have some discretion but it is best to attend a group relevant to your age.

How groups fit into the wider movement

Every Woodcraft Folk group is a recognised branch of the UK charity. Most groups belong to a District, which operate across a geographical area (possibly county, borough or city-wide) supporting a network of groups. Visit the online map to see where Woodcraft groups are.
