DFs are trying to get our members more involved in their local groups. We have recently created a page on our own website (spanthatworld.com) where different volunteering opportunities can be posted. If you run/are starting up a Woodcraft Folk group and would like DF volunteers to help please get in touch so we can spread the word.

Elfin trip to Cudham - weekend of the royal wedding

Elfins from Brighton Central and Hove District had a great visit to Cudham from 18 to 20 May. On the Saturday afternoon instead of watching the royal wedding they took part in a Wide Game designed to educate them about the problems of plastic waste and how they can help (see photos).

Chanctonbury Ring District learn about the NHS

Last week members of the Chanctonbury Ring District attended the Steyning Festival and took part in their procession. The procession's theme was 'Revolution' and the district decided to represent the NHS, celebrating the revolution of British healthcare.

Chaos Venturers raise money for local homeless charity

Last week the members of Caos Venturers (Brighthelmstone District) showed their suppport to the young homeless poeple in Brighton by arranging a 'sleep out' for Clock Tower Sanctuary, a local day centre for the homeless aged 16 -25.

Congratulations to Angus, Debs, Neil, Rich and Sean our valiant team who ran the Brighton Marathon to raise much needed funds for the Folk. All completed and in some impressive times. We simply cannot thank you enough you are truly amazing.

Meet the new Lockerbrook Farm Outdoor Centre team

Jo Holliday is the new Centre Manager. Her main objective is to develop the Centre to be an outstanding activity centre for Woodcraft Folk and other groups. Previously she worked in the student union movement for over 25 years supporting international students. She was also a group leader for many years when her daughters were active in Woodcraft and has fond memories of bringing groups up to stay at Lockerbrook! When she is not working she is a keen off-road runner in the Peak District and beekeeper/allotmenteer.
