Call for Woodcraft participants for IFM-SEI’s Study Session ‘Rainbow Resources: Gender and sexuality rights education with children’

This study session aims to enhance the quality and reach of IFM-SEI’s human rights education with children in the fields of gender and sexuality, by providing the space to share approaches and methodology and training multipliers in the field.

To be held Sunday 23rd September organised by the Movement for the Abolition of War

The event is for children aged 5 to 11, a fun day out for the whole family. Children are given a Mystery Walk puzzle book and a Mystery Walk passport. They'll find clues, solve puzzles and decode messages along the route in order to get their passports stamped at each site.

Brighton Hill Fort held their circus extravaganza district camp in Small Dole, West Sussex at this end of the summer.

The circus themed activities ranged from acrobatics and slack-lining, to juggling ball making. In your spare time, you could always find someone to practise poi, juggling or diabolo with.

If you think about it, you probably already lead in some way. Leading in Woodcraft Folk isn’t about standing above or in front of everyone else and telling them what to do, it’s about understanding people and helping them understand the world – and then change it for the better – whether it’s through cookery or campaigning.

Height Gate is a beautiful seventeenth century farmhouse located in idyllic West Yorkshire between Hebden Bridge and Todmorden. The centre is only a short scramble from Stoodley Pike and its location in the hills offers a perfect place to go for a tranquil and relaxing trip away. You may have heard that this summer Woodcraft Folk tried something new – we mixed experienced leaders, young people interested in leading groups, and new groups of children and parents – all at Woodcraft Park Farm. If you’ve played Woodcraft Crumble, you’ll have an idea of what it was like. Our aim was to match up the young people who wanted to develop their skills with the people who already had those skills, plus the children who would enjoy the games run by the new young leaders as they practised what they’d learned.
