Why DFs are campaigning on climate change and how you can help

Monday, 9 February 2015

Climate Change is terrifying. You know that, of course you do, but just in case you’re not really really feeling the fear, hopelessness and overwhelming despair in this exact moment, I’ve got some facts to shake you up a little. Did you know that already, a whole island of people have become refugees after they had to flee the rising tide. Or that after a global temperature rise of 2C, climate change will not be something we can stop because the ice and frost that melts as a result of this temperature rise releases greenhouse gases, that cause more ice and frost to melt.

Members of the committee at Lockerbrook woke up to beautiful white covered landscapes, freezing temperatures and

glorious sunshine. A group had gone up a day earlier to undertake much needed maintenance at the centre but were surprised to find cars, buildings and pathways covered in a deep layer of snow after a cosy night sleeping in the cottage.

IFM-SEI, Woodcraft Folk’s umbrella organisation, hosts an international camp every 5-6 years in co-operation with another IFM-SEI organisation (or two!). All IFM-SEI members are invited to come along to get stuck into a fun and engaging programme, meet new friends from across the globe and to be part of an international socialist community for a week or two.

I get it! Can you give us some examples?

The tariff is called Fair and Square March 2016 and has an average cost of £938 per year for dual fuel customers. This tariff will only be available for a limited time so you need to switch soon to make such a good saving.
