The context:-

At last year's Annual Gathering it was agreed to set up a campaign to address the problems our invited international delegations were having obtaining visas, particularly from Africa, Asia, and South America amongst others.

Many Districts are not using the Gift Aid system because they think it is too complicated or will cause them some kind of problem. Until recently, I thought the same and my District missed out on the massive opportunity Co-Camp presented to raise money for the District and for Woodcraft's central office... writes Tom from Ealing.

National Camp for Younger Members?

The Education and Groups Grand Committee is currently undertaking a consultation exercise with all Woodchip, Elfin and Pioneer groups on whether there should be one or more national camps for Woodcraft Folk’s younger members. This consultation will help shape the views on whether a camp is a realistic possibility.

Lloyd Russell-Moyle: new Vice-President of European Youth Forum

Woodcraft Folk’s Lloyd Russell-Moyle is the newly elected Vice-President of the European Youth Forum. The General Assembly of the European Youth Forum took place from 21-25 November in Maribor, Slovenia - European Youth Capital 2013 – where Lloyd got elected. Lloyd is the previous Chair of Woodcraft Folk and is currently Vice-Chair (Centres and Campsites) of General Council.

Over the TREE residential meeting in September, a group of 13 to 23 year-olds from the TREE Communications and Steering Groups discussed and voted on the next, youth led, national Woodcraft Campaign. The chosen campaign focuses on “Young People’s Awareness of Politics, War etc” and is going under the working title of “Our Times”.

A few General Council members are interested in getting members' views on whether they like the present General Council election system, or whether they would like to look at an alternative.

Please find attached below a Discussion Paper. Replies by the 26th November would be very useful so we can report back members' views to the General Council meeting on 30th November.
