Building Camp Koodoo

In 2011 a campaign was launched to create Camp Koodoo in memory of Henry Fair and his call to create a national youth campsite.

Since taking over the Biblins Youth Campsite in 2018, volunteers have been working to make that vision into a reality. Volunteers have toiled to create a semi-permanent camp - a huge thanks go to the volunteers of all ages who have worked during February and April to create the foundations and erect the necessary canvas.

All Woodcraft Folk members are strongly encouraged to engage in a wide range of international opportunities.

Our sister organisation, Kurt Loewensteine House is a socialist education centre. There aim is democratic socialism, Internationalism, equality, antimilitarism, tolerance, ‘civil society’, gender equality, activism, solidarity and freedom. Therefore, they fight against capitalism, patriarchy and all forms of discrimination. Each year they run a series of seminars and training sessions, see below for more information:

We have been busy over the winter getting the Centre ready for our groups this year and wanted to share some of the big news and upcoming events with you all!  

In the first 3 months of this year we have had double the number of Woodcraft Folk groups coming to us compared the same time last year.  And we ran our first ever retreat for women in the Folk which had a great response.

#CommonGround group poetry workshops

We are really excited to be working with Helen Mort (http://www.helenmort.com/)one of the most exciting women poets in the UK.  She is going to lead 4 interlinked workshops accessible for all ages but we particularly want to encourage DFs and Venturers  to come together to create a group collaborative poem which responds to the world we live in together.  We hope you will be then able to perform this at #CommonGround in 2020!
