Common Ground is looking for Centre Co-ordinators

Woodcraft’s next International camp is now next year! Now that planning of the camp is well underway, the programme team are looking for people to run our central programme centres.

We want 13 different themed central spaces and each one needs a person or team to coordinate it. The list of themes for centres is as follows:

 Folk Supply Last Orders & New items!

Christmas and the New Year are fast approaching and we would like to remind you of the last date to place an order with Folk Supply is Sunday 16th December 2018.

After this date Folk Supply will close for stock take and year end preparations and no more orders will be posted out until week commencing 8th January 2019.

At 10am on December 11th 2018 the Grow Your Tenner campaign begins.

Parents can set up a £10 per month direct debit for 12 months and Local Giving will match fund the last 6 months of donations

The results are in for the 2019 Membership Badge Competition!!

We're pleased to announce that the winner of this year Membership Badge competition is Cicely Bonald a pioneer from Watford District. We received 220 votes and the result were very close with only 15 votes separating 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

We'd like to thank the 173 members who made an entry and their Districts for supporting them to get their entries in.

Folk Office will now work behind the scenes to get the chosen badge ready for 2019!!

Dear Lloyd,

On behalf of General Council and Woodcraft Folk I want to express our support and admiration for the speech you gave in parliament last week. Since you became MP for Brighton Kemptown it’s been a pleasure and delight to see someone who was chair of our organisation and who lives and breathes Woodcraft Folk giving a voice to young people in the commons, and your brave decision to publicly share your HIV positive status only adds to our pride.

Winning winter group night ideas share

Over 60 people from all Scottish districts got together for a day of fun and sharing ideas in Falkirk in mid November. Young people and adults rotated around 5 idea stations where they picked up different ideas for group nights. These stations were smoothie making, soup making and knifework, craft origami book marks, anti plastics campaigning, Common Ground camp, and water issues. In true co-operative style each person was invited to bring a vegetable or fruit to add to the soup and smoothies.

Earlier this year we asked our members to take part in this year’s Membership Badge competition. The theme was ‘Widening Participation’. We had 173 entries from 13 District and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those members who submitted a design. They were all fantastic and the “secret panel’ had a hard time choosing the finalists.
