Your Weekly Challenges!

Wednesday, 13 May 2020

As you probably have seen, we have launched our new #DreamBigAtHome website, where you will find our remote and virtual programme during these times of social distancing. In this time of crisis, we can still link up young people, play games, make friends and continue a sense of community and connection while we are physically apart.

Something we think might be particularly fun for you to do are the Weekly Challenges. These will require use of our aims and principles for young members and families to take part in whilst staying at home. Challenges will use cooperation, looking at nature and environment in your local area, international understanding and friendship.

Some of past week’s challenges included making a rainbow out of objects in your home, making a thank you card for farmers for Fair Trade Day, writing a postcard to a friend or family member to make them feel less lonely, making some peace bunting, or planting a plant or flower in your garden/neighbourhood to increase biodiversity. Below are some pictures about young people who have shared what they made. We could not include all the ones that you shared with us, but thank you very much to all those who participated and sent us a picture, even if yours is not among those below!

If you/your young people and family complete some/all of the challenges of the week, you can also win yourself a badge and a certificate! All you have to do is send in any completed challenges or pictures of your young members completing challenges to challenges@woodcraft.org.uk, and we will send back a digital certificate and information on how to receive your cloth badge from Folk Office.
