Charity secures funding from Government to help get more children involved in Social Action in Merseyside

Woodcraft Folk, the co-operative children’s charity run by volunteers and designed to help develop young people’s self-confidence and awareness of the world has secured funding from Government to help create more opportunities for young people in Merseyside.

The organisation has received funding from Youth United Foundation to help them deliver their New Groups Project

Getting ready for camp, juggling a million tasks, haven't booked for Annual Gathering yet, don't want to pay the late fee, don't panic we have extended the booking deadline by two weeks to the 31st July 2015. You can still book after this date but bookings will be subject to the late booking fee.

90th Anniversary Pageant a Great Success!

About 250 Woodcraft Folk members had a great time on Saturday 13th June on the Dulwich Fort Scout site. The weather

 started off a bit grey, but then the sun came out. The adults could reminisce over old photographs, displays and films indoors, but most of the activities were aimed at children who were encouraged to do at least 8 activities to be rewarded with a cupcake decorated with the folk symbol and one of the brand new cloth badges.

Leicestershire Celebrates 90th Birthday

Leicestershire District enjoyed a wonderful 90th Birthday May Camp with friends from Hinckley, Derby, Coventry and Wales. Eighty people co-operated in fantastic activities from archery to zipwire, plus bushcraft, campfires, canoeing, cooking, crafting, cricket and singing. The camp had all age groups from Woodchips up.

Cudham Adult Reunion

On Sunday the 4th of July over 40 people came together for the Cudham Adult Reunion. 

It was a wonderful day with volunteers from the whole of Cudhams history coming together to celebrate and remember past events and people who have contributed to the success of the centre.

Heritage Website Redevelopment

As part of the 90th anniversary celebrations Woodcraft Folk is looking to appoint a developer to upgrade it's current heritage website.

The heritage website was developed as part of Woodcraft Folk's 75th anniversary, and hosts a whole range of photographs, documents and activities. It is definitely worth a visit.

However, as technology has moved on the website needs a refresh. Woodcraft Folk would like the new look website to:

 New to Folk Supply

Embroidered badge & T-Shirt to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Woodcraft Folk.

The back of the T-Shirt features a beautiful illustration titled 'A Day in Camp' taken from the Hallo newspaper of the 1937 International camp in Brighton, depicting a day in camp from morning cry, clan duties, singing & dancing to bedtime. Underneath the text reads, 'Grassroots Education since 1925'

During Volunteers Week hundreds of events will be taking place across the country to say thank you to volunteers, recognising the important contribution volunteers make.
