SW & Midlands regional gathering

Monday, 18 November 2019

On a very wet October Saturday morning members gathered from across the Midlands and South West regions to share practice and solidarity support.

The programme included an update from the Districts present, which included tales of:

- Banbury's moving up ceremony

- Cheltenham's success at recruiting student volunteers

- Bristol's winning Coop Good Causes application (three times in a row)

- Leicestershire's Refugee Project

- Stroud's sausage sizzle

- Oxford's secret to a happy District = cake

- Exeter new (and noisy) hall

Members valued the time spent together exploring recruitment and retention of both volunteers and children. We also had a catch up about what has been happening across the movement and an introduction to Groop.

As a group we also discussed how best to prepare for Common Ground.
