Roadmap to reopening

Thursday, 11 June 2020

This week General Council approved Woodcraft Folk's Roadmap to Reopening.

Whilst Covid-19 restrictions mean that many Woodcraft Folk groups and activities can still not take place, now is the time to plan future activities.

At this time many Woodcraft Folk groups continue to engage our youngest members through:

  • Distributing activity ideas and resources
  • Facilitating online meetings
  • Delivering online programme activities
  • Regular phone calls and checking in with individuals

As a movement we know that we are stronger together and the real value of our work is by bringing people together in their communities and through shared experiences. This has been difficult under social distancing regulations, but we are hopeful that in the coming months we will be able to:

  • Welcome household and family groups to our residential centres
  • Begin to deliver family and household focused outdoor activities whilst maintaining social distancing

Groups across the country are being advised to plan for the future, although we recognise that Covid-19 has hit communities differently and some groups are in geographical areas with a high R level. Each group will be supported to do what is right for their members and their community. Folk Office will continue to deliver remote and virtual programme through #DreamBigAthome.

To help groups prepare to plan there will be a webinar on Thursday 18th June at 7pm. see joining instructions below.
