One World camp, Scotland

Wednesday, 12 September 2018

Members from Scotland held a fabulous week-long One World camp in July in Perthshire.

The glorious weather meant over 120 people from Woodchip age upwards enjoyed much water play, a mud kitchen made by the Venturers, paddling, swimming, giant bubble making, raft building, and swinging over the river in efforts to stay cool. There were lots of activities to get involved with such as crafts, waterwheel building, walks, games, treasure hunts, a pea fair, a disco and a show as well as all the usual clan activities to make things run smoothly.

Young people especially enjoyed making their own pizzas from scratch and cooking them in groups on small fires. The evenings saw campfires, storytelling, singing and sleeping out under the stars. It was lovely to see members from our newest group in Camelon, set up earlier this year, getting so involved. We are already dreaming of 2019’s camp and meeting up with everyone again.

With thanks to the camp coordinating team and all the people that made it happen.
