New online training module
Over recent months Woodcraft Folk have been piloting new ways to support local volunteers to engage with training. Today we are launching a series of new onlne introductory modules for new leaders and new groups - New Group Journey. The online module brings together everything leaders need to know to get started and looks at the following topics:
- Staying Safe
- Being part of the Folk
- The people you need
- Programme planning
- Finance
- Communication
Individuals can visit www.woodcraft.org.uk/newgroupjourney and do any of the modules in whatever order, whenever they like. They can even take a quiz to check that they have understood the key points. This is just our first step in introducting online training - there will be more in future.
Also, since March we have been facilitating webinars on a range of topics, including:
- Introduction to Special Education Needs
- Who needs a DBS or PVG?
- Supporting children and young people on the autistic spectrum
- Introduction to the Membership Database
- Supporting children and young people with dyslexia
Other planned webinars include:
- Communication for All, Wednesday 4th June 8pn
- Introduction to Gift Aid, Thursday 12th June 8pm
To book please email deborah.mccahon@woodcraft.org.uk
If you would be interested in facilitating a webinar on a topic of interest to the wider movement then please do get in touch. I am particularly keen to find volunteers willing to run sessions on how to put the aims and principles into practice.
