Northampton Woodcraft Folk’s journey begins

In September 2014 the Northampton Woodcraft Folk was launched at Wootton Hall Park alongside the three Emergency

Services. Due to an overwhelming response, the group is already running Elfins, Pioneers, Venturers and District Fellows over two nights.

We've been very lucky to recruit a good number of Youth Workers and with over 70 young people registered in the first two months, we are looking forward to building on a very exciting start. We are already planning a “Woodcraft Show” at a local theatre, a series of joint projects with local charities such as The Hope Centre and Friends of Hardingstone, and a number of activity/camping weekends close to home and further away in the Peak District and Kent.

We welcome anyone who is interested in joining our journey and the exciting adventure Northampton Woodcraft Folk has started. For more information, contact us on info@northamptonwoodcraftfolk.co.uk

Our first project so far was to raise money for the Northampton Hope Centre. Our Venturers were keen to make this their firat project in support of their community.

Sophie Willis and Holly Salaman ran a cake stall at their local high school, Caroline Chisholm School, to raise money for the Northampton Hope Centre which provides shelter and support for the homeless in our town. Not only have they raised money for this very worthy organisation, they have inspired others in the group to do the same and a number of projects are now being formed by other Venturers and District Fellows to help out. We'll keep you posted!!
