All Change: Climate Science fun

The National Association for Environmental Education funded, All Change project hosted the first in a series of practical training sessions at Coop Group Headquarters involving Woodcraft Folk members from Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Leicester and Wales. For some members it was the first time they had taken part in science experiments since leaving school at 16!

The session was facilitated by Miles Hudson of the Perimeter Institute who helped us explore melting ice caps, rising sea levels and warming air temperature. Using tea lights, ice cubes, rocks, water and balloons we were able to recreate the power of extreme weather.

Miles also shared a number of useful graphics to help illustrate climate science, please see powerpoint presentation attached. For a copy of the full powerpoint presentation please contact debs@woodcraft.org.uk

The session was live streamed and recorded to enable the participation of those that were self-isolating due to the coronavirus.
