International opportunity

Thursday, 29 August 2019

For more than 20 years, the education centre of our sister organisation in Germany, SJD-Die Falken, has been a space for international meetings and encounters for members and activists from IFM-SEI (Woodcraft Folk's international umbrella), IUSY and YES (international youth organisations in the socialist family). In various seminars like Winterschool, Summerschool, Queer Easter and more, we discuss, dream and make plans how to contribute to social change.

The seminars and trainings are run by an international team to share different approaches and experiences, and to learn more about different realities we live in. The international team is composed of active members from various member organisations from all over Europe, Israel and Palestine. They meet regularly, receive trainings and develop in these meetings ideas for seminars.

The Kurt Löwenstein education centre wants to build a new generation for this international team and are inviting all of their sister organisations to join the international team.

From 5th to 11th October 2019 there is a training seminar “Education for social change” at the Kurt Löwenstein Haus in the suburbs of Berlin to provide knowledge and skills of how to design and run educational processes in an international surrounding.

Participants should be aged 18-30 years and be members of Woodcraft Folk. Woodcraft Folk can send up to 5 members.

The participation fee for the seminar is 100 Euros, participants will be able to claim up to 100 Euros as part of your travel expenses.

Then the first seminar of the newly established international team will be the international Winterschool on “countering right-wing populism” from 28th December 2019 to 4th January 2020, which will also have a preparatory team meeting in our centre.

If you are interested in participating in the seminar in October and joining the international team, please get in touch with international@woodcraft.org.uk
