Gwerin play Co-opVille

Bore dydd Sadwrn yng Nghynulliad Blynyddol Gwerin daeth 34 ohonom ynghyd i chwarae gêm Co-opVille. Pentref dychmygol yw Co-opVille a'r bwriad yw dysgu plant a phobl ifanc sut mae cwmnïau cydweithredol yn gweithio drwy chwarae rhan yn un o'r gwmnïau'r pentref. Roedd y gwerithgaredd hwn yn rhan o brosiect Co-op Op sy'n cefnogi pobl ifanc i lunio eu dyfodol ar batrwm gydweithredol trwy Gymru. Wedi treulio rhan gyntaf y gêm yn dysgu am gydweithredu a cheisio deall rheolau'r gêm, ar ôl toriad byr, roedd yn amser rhoi cychwyn ar y masnachu.

Saturday morning at Gwerin Annual Gathering 34 of the Woodcraft Folk in Wales came together to play  Co-opVille, an imaginary village where the intention is to teach children and young people how co-operatives work by taking a role in one of the companies. This was part of the Co-op Op project supporting young people to shape their future in a co-operative way. After spending the first part of the game learning about co-operation and trying to understand the rules of the game, it was time to start trading.

Aeth rhai o weithwyr y siop Fair Food ar ymweliad â Friendly Fruits 'n Cracking Coffee i brynu ffrwythau a choffi am bris teg. Gan fod y siop hefyd wedi cael her amgylcheddol arhosodd rhai o'r gweithwyr yn y siop i lunio polisi amgylcheddol. Roedd y siop yn benderfynol o brynu bwyd lleol, lleihau gwastraff a phlannu coed er mwyn lliniaru ychydig ar effaith amgylcheddol y cwmni.

A few of the workers from the Fair Food shop visited the Friendly Food Fruits' n Cracking Coffee farm to buy fruit and coffee at a fair price. As the shop had been issued an environmental challenge some of the workers stayed in the shop to shape an environmental policy. The shop was determined to buy local food, to reduce waste and to plant trees in order to mitigate the environmental impact of the company.

Yn disgwyl yn eiddgar i'r bananas gyrraedd siop Fair Food yr oedd gweithwyr caffi Paper Coffee, er mwyn iddynt gael dechrau gwerthu ysgytlaeth i'w cwsmeriaid sychedig. Ar ôl cael trafferth yn cynhyrchu gwartheg papur roedd gweithwyr fferm yr Happy Cow-Op wedi penderfynu gwella safon eu stoc a dechrau cynhyrchu gwartheg cardbord. Roedd hyn yn eu galluogi i gael mwy o lefrith i werthu i'r siop.

Eagerly waiting for bananas to reach the shop were the Paper Coffee cafe workers, so they could start selling milkshakes to their thirsty customers.
The Happy Cow-Op farm workers after struggling to produce paper cattle then decided to improve their stock and started producing cardboard cattle. This enabled them to have more milk to sell to the shop.

Yn mynd o amgylch yr ystafell yn hel sbwriel roedd Paper Green – Nice and Clean cwmni ailgylchu'r pentref. Roeddynt yn troi'r gwastraff bwyd yn gompost ac yn ailgylchu'r gwastraff papur. Yn cadw trefn ar bawb roedd y Dream Bank. Roeddynt yn rhoi grantiau i'r cwmnïau ac yn cyfnewid sieciau am ddoleri Co-opVille.

Going around the room picking litter was Green Paper - Nice and Clean, the village's recycling company. They turned food waste into compost and recycled the waste paper. Keeping an eye on all was the Dream Bank. They gave grants to the co-operatives and exchanged cheques for Co-opVille dollars .

Ar ôl tair awr roedd yn amser dirwyn y gêm i ben ac yn amser llenwi'r taflenni gwerthuso. Roedd un grŵp wedi darganfod bod rhedeg busnes yn waith caled, bod cwmnïau cydweithredol yn gweithio â'i gilydd i helpu pawb a bod busnesau yn elwa o fod yn rhan o gymdeithas. Dweud bod y gêm wedi bod yn hwyl, yn flinedig ac yn addysgol â wnaeth un o'r grwpiau eraill.

After three hours it was time to wind up the game and fill in the evaluation sheets. One group had found that running a business is hard work, that co-operatives work together to help everyone and that businesses benefit from taking into consideration their social responsibilities. One of the other groups said that the game had been fun, exhausting and educational.

Diwedd y gêm oedd y seremoni wobrwyo. Roedd maer y bentref yn falch iawn o roi gwobrau lu i'r grwpiau am chwarae'r gêm mor llwyddiannus a dysgu cymaint am gydweithredu wrth gael hwyl.

The finale was the awards ceremony. The village mayor was proud to present many awards to the different groups who played the game so well and learnt so much about collaboration while having fun.

Mae Co-opVille wedi'i datblygu gan y coleg cydweithredol ar gyfer CoCamp a mae mwy o wybodaeth ar gael oddi ar y wefan http://www.co-op.ac.uk/2011/08/co-opville-co-operative-business-role-play-game/#.Uo9yvSeHigk.
