Folk Office recognise that these uncertain times will created added stresses and pressures impacting on the sustainability of local groups. Whilst most groups and Districts have not lost money, they have all lost income during the period of closure. To support the financial sustainability of local groups the following support will be provided:

Woodcraft Folk's Chair, Pip Sayers, and Woodcraft Folk's Director of Development, Debs McCahon, would like to invite all members and supporters to a special webinar on Friday June 5th at 5pm.

As we are not able to meet at Woodcraft Folk’s Annual Gathering, which should have taken place at the Common Ground Pre-Camp supporters and members are invited to join us online to hear about how Woodcraft Folk is dealing with Covid-19 and our plans for the future as our work is more needed in our communities than ever.

A huge part of Woodcraft Folk experiences is being able to camp with our groups and districts. At the moment we cannot go camping together so instead of having a big camp out this year we will be hosting a big camp IN.

On May 7th Woodcraft Folk launched #DreamBigAtHome - Woodcraft Folk's remote and virtual programme for children and young people.

A new website with 100s of activities was launched https://dreambigathome.uk/ which has already seen over 1,700 visitors. Over the coming weeks additional activities will be added - if you have suggestions please email lauren@woodcraft.org.uk

Denis Goldberg – a man of hope 1933 – 2020

My earliest recollection of Denis was a story I was told of when his wife, Esme, and children came to London in the mid 60s. I had just started Elfins in Wimbledon and learnt about him and his role in rising up against apartheid in South Africa and the subsequent Rivonia trial. Even at this young age I was made aware of the inequalities in life based on race which has stayed with me to this day.
