Common Ground is looking for Centre Co-ordinators

Wednesday, 9 January 2019

Woodcraft’s next International camp is now next year! Now that planning of the camp is well underway, the programme team are looking for people to run our central programme centres.

We want 13 different themed central spaces and each one needs a person or team to coordinate it. The list of themes for centres is as follows:

  • Hands On – STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mechanics), games, bushcraft, equipment store
  • Arts – including but not limited to drama, spoken word poetry, visual art, music etc.
  • Media
  • Heritage
  • Training
  • Anti-Racism & Anti-Fascism
  • Environment & Migration
  • Rainbow
  • Feminism
  • Sex and Relationships Education with Camp Mediation (based around Woodcraft Folk project: MEST-UP)
  • Conflict & Peace
  • Cooperation
  • Under 10s area (all centres must cater for under 10s as well as this centre)

Centre coordinators will be responsible for shaping the programme on camp. It’s an exciting role where you get support, space and funds to share your ideas, methods and values with people from all over the world.
We are currently applying for grants to fund travel and possibly camp fees for our programme co-ordinators and will hope to be able to provide most of not all of this, though this depends on funding bids being successful.

More information, including a more detailed role description and application form can be found on www.commonground.camp/programme
