Coming up with Dream Big At Home

Wednesday, 21 October 2020

Hopefully by now most of our members have had a chance to check out our new resource based website which now has over 200 activities that can be done individually at home, with your household or with a group online or at a social distance. If you haven't now is a perfect time to have a look! We have alo been publishing weekly challenges for all to take part in and share what they have made, learned and done. It's been fantastic to recently see groups using activities and challenges from #DreamBigAtHome to form their programme for this term. If you are looking for activities to do after half term please check it out and share with the rest of your groups and districts.

This month we have published an educational resource page around actively starting conversations about racism and inequality around the world. These resources should be accessible for all ages and for parents and families too. Have a look, there may be something you want to try out with your group or at home. We are working on developing a similar page around the climate emergency.

As well as the activities to take part in we have also been running a national online programme for young people to engage with. We have been facilitating sessions around a range of different topics, all which relate to our aims and principles and encouraging young people to develop skills to make our future brighter, better and fairer. You can find out what is coming up on our event calendar page where you can also use the on demand section to watch back on past sessions and check out some other video content. Over the next couple of weeks our programme includes a session around large scale green energy generation, designing a community garden, storytelling, a session from Central England Coop and more!

If anyone has any ideas for activities, challenges or live programme that can be promoted through #DreamBigAtHome or would like to be involved in the team of staff and volunteers who are working hard to create the site and it's content please get in touch lauren@woodcraft.org.uk
