Co-op Community Fund success

Wednesday, 21 September 2016

Congratulations to three districts, Bromley, Clapham and Chorlton & Whalley Range, who have been selected as recipients of the Co-op Local Community Fund.

As you will know, funding from the Co-op that regions and districts used to receive has been reduced or stopped. However, a new Local Community Fund has been set up to support local charities and the first recipients have been selected, including at least three Woodcraft districts.

Chorlton & Whalley Range District applied for funding to recruit, screen and train new volunteers, deliver outreach activities to attract new children, engage families who are unable to access other informal learning opportunities, and promote co-operative values and principles through their work. Clapham District asked for funds to help pay for hall rents and put towards next year's summer camp.

Applications for funding have closed for this round, but will re-open for new applications later in the year. Information can be found at

Chorlton & Whalley Range and Clapham districts have kindly shared the information in their applications to the Co-op to help other district with their applications. You can find this information, together with the leaflet from the Co-op about applying, attached to the Funding Opportunities web page.
