Celebrating Spelthorne

Monday, 29 October 2018

Woodcraft friends past & present, and visitors form Denmark and Belgium joined together for a weekend residential to celebrate the

many years of volunteering by Folk members in Spelthorne. The members met at Cudham, Woodcrafts own centre and made the best use of the beautiful countryside.

The weekend included a Walk to Down House to walk in Darwins Footsteps, afternoon tea with scones made by the children and even a rather energetic sword dance.

Rather than focus on the fact the district is unfortunately due to close participants celebrated many year of activities for children young people and families. The weekend included lots of opportunities for members to share memories laugh and cry over photographs as well as sing songs and play games.

Even though it’s the end of an era for Spelthorne district, the Spelthorne volunteers all pledged to stay in touch with Woodcraft folk and have already signed up to support London and Bromley camps as well as volunteering at Cudham.
