Bushcraft Leader Training Camp 2 – 4 May 2015

Wednesday, 26 November 2014

This three day training camp will be held at our very own Woodcraft Park Farm, in Lurgashall

We will camp in tents on the edge of the woods and will take part in bushcraft training in the bushcraft area within the woods and in the main barn building of the farm.

The purpose of the camp is to offer training to leaders with a limited experience of bushcraft activities and to provide a skills sharing gathering for more experienced leaders. It is hoped that the later will also provide the training, so it will be an all Woodcraft Folk event.

There will be a structured programme of activities which could include: bushcraft tools and how to use them, making wild wood items, games to help us understand nature, history and development of bushcraft in the 90 years of the Woodcraft Folk, fire wood and fire lighting, cooking over an open fire, minimising the impact of our camping on the woodland environment, making natural cordage, making charcoal and charred cloth, hammocks and shelter building, safety and risk assessments, the organisation of larger multi group camps. If you have any other programme suggestions please let us have them.

We hope to organise a programme of activities for the children of leaders who are attending the course.

The cost is likely to be around £35 per person and we would urge districts to support their leaders financially where possible.

At this stage we just need an indication that you are interested and in the New Year we will send out more details and a booking form.

Please forward this flyer on to any other leaders in your district that you think maybe interested.

If you are an experienced bushcrafter and are prepared to help with the training please contact one of us to offer your services.

This training camp is now full, we have reached the maximum number of participants allowed at Woodcraft Park Farm.

Clearly there is a strong demand for bushcraft training, so we will have to look at the possibility of running another camp either at the end of this season or at the beginning of next.

Sorry to those who have been disappointed this time but we will try to give you priority next time, let me know and I will add your name to the list.
