Join our team to reach new communities in the Eastern Region

The New Groups Project in the Eastern Region was launched in June 2017, and is jointly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport. This three-year project will see us grow new groups for young people aged 10-18 in Norwich, Suffolk & Cambridgeshire.

We are now seeking to expand our team for the next phase of this exciting project.

During the first year of our New Groups Project in the Eastern Region, we’ve set up two new Pioneer groups in areas which didn’t have any current Woodcraft Folk groups.

Pioneer Activity Weekend at Biblins - 6th-7th October

Announcing our next Pioneer Activity Weekend, taking place on the 6th - 7th October at Biblins Youth Centre. The activities on offer will include: 

  • Climbing
  • Kayaking
  • Orienteering
  • Co-operative team challenges
  • Bushcraft
  • Campfire and singing 

The total cost for this camping weekend is £40.

Annual Gathering 2018 - What happened?

This year's Annual Gathering was held at our newest campsite - the wonderful Biblins - in glorious sunshine. Saturday was full of celebration of our achievements over the past year, launching our new strategic plan - which will take us through to our centenary in 2025 - and a wide range of inspiring workshops and skill-sharing sessions.

As our DCMS and Big Lottery funded New Groups Project in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire begins it’s second year of operation, we have four new Pioneer groups successfully up and running in the region with even more Pioneer and Venturer groups to follow soon.

Chanctonbury Ring District learn about the NHS

Last week members of the Chanctonbury Ring District attended the Steyning Festival and took part in their procession. The procession's theme was 'Revolution' and the district decided to represent the NHS, celebrating the revolution of British healthcare.
