Join our team to reach new communities in the Eastern Region

The New Groups Project in the Eastern Region was launched in June 2017, and is jointly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport. This three-year project will see us grow new groups for young people aged 10-18 in Norwich, Suffolk & Cambridgeshire.

We are now seeking to expand our team for the next phase of this exciting project.

Vote for your favourite Membership Badge design 2019

Earlier this year we asked our members to take part in this year’s Membership Badge competition. The theme was ‘Widening Participation’. We had 173 entries from 13 District and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those members who submitted a design. They were all fantastic and the “secret panel’ had a hard time choosing the finalists.

Eastern Region Pioneer Meet Up

On 22nd October some Pioneers from St Neots, Cambridge and Peterborough got together for a day filled with fun! They met at Hinchingbrooke Country Park in Huntingdon. Pioneers worked together to put a tent up following instructions, they then had to take it down with half of them having their eyes closed! They cooperated to collect wood and build a central fire. Whilst it was still light there was a whittling activity to make a marshmallow stick each and the pioneers fed everyone with hot dogs cooked on trangias (raised outdoor stove). 

Central England Cooperative Members Meetings

At the Central England Cooperative Members' Meetings in early October, Woodcraft Folk were represented in Peterborough and Norwich. Norwich Woodcraft Folk took some activities and had a stall at the event at Norwich City FC, whilst one of our Pioneers from St Neots, Kier (12) gave a speech about what he likes about being part of Woodcraft Folk at the Mariott Hotel in Peterborough.
