Woodcraft Folk welcome a new Head of Resources!

Youth organisation Woodcraft Folk are delighted to have appointed a new Head of Resources, Ruth Lorimer.

Ruth has worked in finance for the charity sector for over 10 years, starting as a bookkeeper and learning financial management “on the job”. Last year Ruth was awarded the ICAEW Diploma of Charity Accounting, which recognises financial leadership skills gained through experience which included working for a grant-making foundation (Cripplegate Foundation), a children’s literacy charity (Doorstep Library Network), and most recently, a musicians health charity (Royal Society of Musicians).

Ruth is thrilled to be joining the youth organisation and can’t wait to get stuck into work.

Ruth Lorimer, Head of Resoruces says:

“I have always been aware of Woodcraft and the work they do, and really support the ethos of co-operativism and empowering young people. I’ve known lots of Woodies, both as a child (I was always jealous of their superior camping skills!) and as an adult, coming across them in community campaigns and being impressed at their confidence.”

Ruth is looking forward to helping making it easier for the volunteers and young people to do what they do best with a solid backing of good financial support systems.

Outside of work, Ruth grew up in central London and recently has moved to Cornwall. Ruth loves the great outdoors and when not working is usually out with her dog or digging down at her allotment.
