New online training module

Over recent months Woodcraft Folk have been piloting new ways to support local volunteers to engage with training. Today we are launching a series of new onlne introductory modules for new leaders and new groups - New Group Journey. The online module brings together everything leaders need to know to get started and looks at the following topics:

Safeguarding Training

All staff and volunteers who work regularly (more than once a month) with children and young people, or attend an overnight stay, are required to undertake training. This training can be delivered internally, online or through your Local Safeguarding Children Board. See below a list of all of our online training oppurtunities and guidance documents.

Online Training seminars

Woodcraft Folk strive to be inclusive, open and accessible to all, with this aim in mind Woodcraft Folk began a series of online seminars in March.

This event has unfortunately been cancelled.

This is a weekend of free training for new volunteers in Woodcraft Folk, or young Woodcraft Folk who want to develop their skills in leading a group. It will also include training for young people hoping to get involved with media at this summer's VCamp.

This policy seeks to:

  • Identify how Woodcraft Folk involves and recruits volunteers;
  • Make a strong commitment to supporting diversity;
  • Clarify what volunteers can expect from Woodcraft Folk and in return what is expected of them;
  • Confirm volunteer selection and screening requirements; and
  • Signpost volunteers and volunteer co-ordinators to a range of policies and resources that have been designed to support their engagement within Woodcraft Folk on a local and national level.
