Nottingham Woodcraft Folk help plant a Covid-19 memorial woodland
On Saturday 5th December, as part of National Tree Planting Week, the Nottingham Woodcraft Folk group teamed up with Carlton Hill Community Action Group to help plant a memorial woodland for the people of Gedling Borough who have lost their lives to Covid-19.
The Elfins group planted 15 native British saplings that had been donated by the Woodland Trust. It was a sunny but cold day, and hot chocolate and biscuits helped keep spirits up. The children did brilliantly to maintain social distancing and were awarded their Ecologist Badge at the end of the day.

News from Falkirk
Back at the beginning of the summer term Falkirk Elfins and Pioneers (and some of the adults) spent a lovely sunny evening outside making these mini-zines about their memories of our group. Many thanks to our volunteer, Lynsey, who showed us how to make the zines.
Nicky, we love you too! #volunteersweek
It’s Volunteers’ Week and Nicky Bagilhole, Beacon Elfins Leader Brighton, has told us how much she enjoys being an Elfin Leader. Here’s what Nicky says.
“I got involved in Woodcraft when my children started. I went on summer camp and there was a shortage of leaders, so that was it!
