What's Your Favourite Woodcraft Folk Activity?

Wednesday, 17 April 2019

This summer we will be making some new activity packs to help more children and young people to take part in Woodcraft Folk. We would like your help to decide what goes in them!

Introducing Children's Rights Training

This is a training tool to introduce the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This resource can be used by our leaders and helpers.

The resource is downloadable from this page and takes about 10 minutes.

Aims & Principles Outcomes Matrix

A successful programme for a Woodcraft group will include a range of activities inspired by our Aims & Principles. To help translating these big ideas into something that group leaders can put into practice, experienced Woodcraft leaders working with every age group have contributed to the creation of a set of age-appropriate outcomes linked to the Aims & Principles.

#CommonGround group poetry workshops

We are really excited to be working with Helen Mort (http://www.helenmort.com/)one of the most exciting women poets in the UK.  She is going to lead 4 interlinked workshops accessible for all ages but we particularly want to encourage DFs and Venturers  to come together to create a group collaborative poem which responds to the world we live in together.  We hope you will be then able to perform this at #CommonGround in 2020!

Lockerbrook activity weekends book now

Tuesday, 2 April 2019

We have been busy over the winter getting the Centre ready for our groups this year and wanted to share some of the big news and upcoming events with you all!

In the first 3 months of this year we have had double the number of Woodcraft Folk groups coming to us compared the same time last year.  And we ran our first ever retreat for women in the Folk which had a great response.
